SHUTTER TIME: SIX MONTHS

This is the BIG photo project I've been working on. Now reduced to a handy wallpaper-sized version (use the DOWNLOAD link for the full-sized one)

STORY:

During this year I've taken a total of 30 photos for this panorama (10 for each segment; total of 3 segments) from an exactly determined location in different weather conditions; fog, sunshine, snow, rain, sunset and sunrise. Even cloudy days, though those were the least inspiring. Today I put together all those photos I've gathered.

With this I am going to participate in a competition given the subject "Contrast". What a better (read 'larger' subject than the contrast of seasons? But there are more; contrast between colors, cold and hot, high and low, big and small, close and far away, ice and water, day and night...

I'll let you guys know how it went when the results are announced sometime in the end of June. Wish me luck..!

I will, however, continue gathering material for this project till somewhere around July or something and then maybe release a new version. Until then, enjoy..! Comments and critique highly desirable : )


IMAGE SPECS:
Composed of 3 x 10 x 8MPix images taken within six months starting from Jan 2007 in Oulu, Finland.

Image size (with all layers): 1.6 GIGABYTES (16 bits).
Image dimensions: 7398 x 4446 pixels = 32,9 MPix.

EDIT: Changed the title to Contrasts to match the title I sent the picture to the competition with.

EDIT (5.5.08, i.e. Really Late): I totally forgot to post the result of the competition here, and since many people are asking for it, I'll tell you that it ranked somewhere between "11th - 25th" according to the magazine which held the competition.
