I've been practising my perspective drawing and shadow projecting skills lately and I hope it shows. This is my first digital airbrushing work, and I'm very encouraged to give it another try sometime.
Drawn using a drawing tablet, maybe total of 8 hours of work during two days.
EDIT: As a friendly deviant pointed out, the shadows seem to strangely form radially although the moon should be hundreds of thousands of miles away (shadows should then be parallel). This is due to the close proximity of the two vanishing points I used here. Were they placed a lot farther from each other the 'fish eye' effect seen here would diminish and produce straight and parallel shadows. But this wouldn't be as surreal as it is now, would it?
I love it! It has that distinguished children's book illustration look to it.
The way the trees seemingly disappear into nowhere, combined with the cold colours of the picture... It's both beautiful and eerie (just enough of it to make the picture really captivating and interesting) and it always amazes when artists are able to create such strong atmospheres and moods in such simple (don't take this the wrong way though) scenes.
There's only one thing I don't like here and I do realize it's weird, but the way that the chimney smoke crosses over the clouds covering the moon is just bothering me for some reason. Not that that's an actual point of critique or anything.

Anyways. You'll learn to draw more by your eye than a ruler, eventually. So no worries!

Listen. Understand. That Herbienator is out there. It can't be reasoned with, it can't be bargained with...
No remorse, no regret, no mercy...
